Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has encouraged local football teams to take advantage of a new Pitch Preparation Fund.

The Premier League, The FA, the Government and Sport England have come together through their Football Foundation to launch a new scheme to help grassroots football clubs.

Applications can be made for grants of up to £5,000 to help get football pitches match fit again ready for when Government advice allows, and clubs in FA National League System from Step 1-6 and clubs in The FA Women’s Pyramid (Tiers 1-5) are eligible to apply.

The funding scheme will be open from now until Monday 25th May and local MP Ben Everitt hopes local clubs needing support will take advantage of the grant.

Ben commented: “Grassroots football is so important to our local communities and I know many people are missing playing or supporting at the weekends.

“MK has so many clubs in the FA National League system so I hope they can take advantage of the scheme and our clubs can continue to be at the heart of communities once we are the other side of the pandemic.”
