Be part of history and join Team YMCA MK as they celebrate a momentous year for the city of Milton Keynes.
In a mission to combat rough sleeping, hidden homelessness and youth poverty, YMCA are due to open their brand-new nine storey campus in the heart of Milton Keynes this Spring. Join their running family in the MK Marathon Weekend 2-3 May, with an exclusive offer of free entry across the weekend, and be part of the team during their opening year.
YMCA has places up for grabs in the Rocket 5k, half and full marathons setting off from central Milton Keynes where you can catch a glimpse of their new landmark home for 199 young people.
“I was honoured to run in the half marathon for YMCA last year. The changing scenery and cheering crowds were really exciting and to know that by running I am giving a young person a step-up is the cherry on top.” Amanda, half marathon runner 2019.
In a survey taken last year, over half of residents staying at YMCA said they are unable to stay at their family home due to a breakdown in relationship, their family can no longer support them, or they are escaping domestic violence.
Funds raised from taking part in any of the race distances will be put to work in providing wellbeing workshops, employment sessions and personal development including life skills. Find out how we helped Jack follow his dream of performing by visiting out website and searching Truth About Me.
This year, each runner will receive their own event running top, personalised fundraising tips and a free drink in our new independent Café, HomeGround.
